Find me on Hi you Beautiful Aglow Ladies and Men! You are highly favored of the Lord. He loves you more than you can comprehend! I have been asking God to give me a word to encourage all of you. Today I sense Him asking, "Do you really believe that what you believe is really real?" Those are words I first heard in connection with THE TRUTH PROJECT study we did at our church last winter. But I believe that if we are to reach a lost world with the truth of Jesus Christ, we first need to KNOW that what we believe IS really REAL. We need to be completely CONVINCED of HIS LOVE for each of US, before we can be convinced of His Love for the ungodly. (Which is what we were B.C. - Before Christ came and changed our lives.) I believe we can ask God to reveal Himself to us - convince us of His Love for us - then give us all we need in order to reach out to others. As I hear the news of wars and rumors of wars, unrest and uprisings in many places in the world, the storms and earthquakes, I wonder 'aloud to God' about where we are in His timetable. God has been speaking to me about Lampstands in Revelation Chapters 1-3. I believe His word to us in Aglow is to be encouraged to HOLD ON to Him, & OVERCOME. As I read I recalled themes from Aglow Conferences in the past several years show up in Revelation. One year the theme was KEY, another was Door. Revelation 1:17-18 says, "I hold the keys of death and hades". Revelation 3:7 & 8 says "What He opens no one can shut..." Also God has spoken to Aglow, at one conference, that God is calling us into governmental authority. Revelation 2:26 says "To him who overcomes I will give AUTHORITY OVER THE NATIONS"... Last year's theme was SOUND. Revelation 1:15b says "...and His voice was like the sound of rusing waters..." The sound of His voice created the world and everything in it when He said "LET THERE BE..." His voice still holds the world together. I urge you to read Revelation. Ponder - listen to what the Spirit of God SPEAKS to you. At our Retreat in April we got a taste of what God has for us, but we can continue to receive "DOWNLOADS" from God at home in our time listening to what God is saying to us. At home, continue to eat and be FILLED. As I have been reading about the Lampstands, I think of the Aglow "Lighthouses". Many Lighthouses have closed, but I read on the Elijah List - "God is restoring Lampstands". Earlier this spring David Wilkerson's newsletter said, "The enemy is in for a surprise. Just as it appears the church will be inundated by a satanic flood, the Spirit will raise up a standard.... "Understand what that standard is... The standard is a HOLY PEOPLE, pure, undefiled, DELIVERED from the corruption that is in the world. "The standard is a new breed of sanctified Christians, who will shine fort as lights (Lampstands?) in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation." The question for us is 'How do we stand as the "standard"? How do we overcome?' Revelation 12:11 says, "They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of their testimony." 1 John 5:4 "...everyone born of God overcomes the world... who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God." And, 'What rewards are there for us when we do overcome?' A summary of the rewards, which can be found in chapters 1-3 of Revelation include THE TREE OF LIFE, THE CROWN OF LIFE, HIDDEN MANNA, YOUR NEW NAME written on a white stone, AN IRON SCEPTER (a sign of authority) THE MORNING STAR, You will WALK WITH JESUS DRESSED IN WHITE, Jesus will ACKNOWLEDGE YOU BEFORE FATHER GOD AND HIS ANGELS, He will make you a PILLAR in the temple of God, He will write on YOU the NAME OF GOD and the NAME OF THE CITY OF GOD and will write on you HIS NEW NAME. He will give you the RIGHT TO SIT WITH HIM ON HIS THRONE! Is that worth it!!!? WOW. HOWEVER, we need to be ready, armed with the Armor of God, for what is ahead. In "Jesus Calling" Sarah Young wrote in the Metro Aglow Newsletter, "The Lord would say, 'Stay on the high road with Me. Many voices clamor for your attention, trying to divert you to another path. But I have called you to walk ever so closely with ME soaking in MY Presence, living in My Peace. This is my unique design for you planned before the world began.' " Be encouraged! Be strengthened in His Word! Be ready! LIVE IN HIS LOVE! LIVE IN THE POWER OF HIS HOLY SPIRIT! PROCLAIM HIS WORD! KNOW YOU ARE LOVED BY GOD! YOU ARE HIS TREASURE IN EARTHEN VESSELS! (IT's OK to let the LIGHT OF HIS LOVE 'LEAK' OUT of your cracks so others can feel the warmth of His Love too.) GOD BLESS YOU ALL! Colleen Woods President, Central MN Area Team |
